Potions – Devlog #5

We have released the announcement trailer! We will be happy to hear what you think about of it.
Do you like it? Are you excited like we are?
Let us know.

Today we want to go through the mechanics of potion making. Potions slowly revel the magical and mystic side of Rising Mist. Ultimately potions will be essential to progress the story and more, so they are a key element when it comes to battles.

You can get several different potions from Olida. She is a nice old lady, a herbalist, who can help you with potions, amulets etc. Potion brewing is her main source of income, so she will ask you for a small fee before starting to brew a potion.

To brew any kind of potions, you will first need a recipe for it. Recipes can just wait for you to get picked up in plain sight, but it takes much more effort to find the most important ones, therefore it is good to listen to the people you are encounter on your adventure. When you learn the ingredients for a individual potion you will need to gather them. Some ingredients you can grow on your fields, others you can find growing in forests and meadows, some you will even find in the darkest of places. To brew a potion you will need Olida’s services, but do not take her help for granted.

You need to wait a few days or in some cases even weeks until the potion is finished, depending on the complexity of the potions itself. Once you pick up the crafted potion you can immediately use it. With potions you can restore your health, cast spells upon your enemies and foe’s, put dragons to slumber etc. You can also sell them for a nice profit.
